The single is part of the band's new album, which will be released in September of this year
The Pixies have released the newest single from their upcoming album, Beneath the Eyrie , scheduled for release on September 13th. “Catfish Kate” features an animated video that tells the story of Kate and her simple task of catching a fish for dinner, which earned her the nickname Catfish Kate.
The video was made by the British company Krank! Collective , which also produced the animation for "Tenement Song" from the 2016 Head Carrier Beneath The Eyrie was produced by Tom Dalgety , and until its release, the group will be releasing episodes of the podcast It's a Pixies Podcast.
Each episode features vocalist and guitarist Black Francis , guitarist Joey Santiago , drummer David Lovering , bassist Paz Lenchantin , and Dalgety discussing the creative process behind their work. It's a Pixies Podcast is available worldwide on Spotify, Apple, Deezer, and Stitcher.
